Green boards with gold lettering to the front and spine. Bumping to the corners and the top and tail of the spine. Spine rolled. Foxing to the rough cut page edges and lighter foxing to the inside end papers and title page. Black and white frontispiece with foxed tissue guard. Signatures of Florence Maud Cowper and Reginald Cowper Man dated 1888 and 1922 respectively. These are inscribed to the ffep which appears to be tipped in where the dark green end paper is absent. 280pp. No further inscriptions, clean and bright pages with colour images towards the centre and black and white illustrations and wood engravings throughout.
